A heat shield device for a vane liner (18) in which a first plurality of honeycomb cells (34A) which are axially aligned are attached to a first side of the vane liner. A second plurality of honeycomb cells (34B) are axially aligned and attached to a second side of the vane liner. The first and second sides of the vane liner are opposite to each other and are provided with cavities which are filled in by the first and second pluralities of honeycomb cells.
