<p>A recording/reproducing apparatus in which an opening part (205) for recording/reproducing is formed in a disc cartridge (202) in which an optical disc (203) is rotatably stored. Therethrough, a light beam emitted from an optical pickup device (1) is projected on the optical disc (203). Thereby, information signals are recorded on and/or reproduced from the optical disc (203). The optical pickup device (1) applied to the appratus is provided with a light source and an objective lens (5) for focusing the light beam emitted from the light source on the signal recording part of the optical disc (203). While by the optical pickup device (1), information signals are recorded on and/or reproduced from the optical disc (203), only the objective lens (5) enters the disc cartridge (202) through the opening part (205), and the distance between the objective lens (5) and the optical disc (203) is small. <IMAGE></p> |
