PURPOSE:To prevent a welding spatter from adhering, by providing a carbon film by an ion plating, on at least the surface of a gas nozzle, in an arc welding torch having the gas nozzle and a tip. CONSTITUTION:In a vacuum tank 7, a substrate holder jig 9 for installing an object work, and a water-cooled hearth 10 for containing a carbon pellet 11 are placed so as to be opposed to each other, and a high frequency coil 14 connected to a high frequency power source 16 is placed in the middle. In the tank 7 which is brought to vacuum exhaust and packed with an Ar gas, a high frequency is applied to the coil 14, the surface of a gas nozzle 1 held by the jig 9 is ion-bombarded by the ionized Ar gas, and thereafter, the carbon pellet 11 in the hearth 10 is heated by an electron beam 12, and an ion plating of carbon is performed to the surface of the gas nozzle 1. In this way, a gas nozzle to which a welding spatter scarcely adheres is obtained, and a life of the torch is extended. |
