PURPOSE:To maintain a uniform temp. distribution and to improve cavity emissivity in a blackbody furnace used for calibration of a radiation thermometer by coating the inside wall of the cavity of the blackbody furnace except the bottom thereof with a black paint, etc. to make black the wall. CONSTITUTION:The body 1 of the blackbody furnace is made of a material having good heat conductivity such as aluminum. The side face part of the inside wall except the bottom is coated black with the black paint 3. Since the bottom part is not painted with the black paint, the cavity emissivity is increased by the multiple reflections for which the specular reflection of the material is utilized. A heater 2 is provided around the body 1. The part of the blackbody furnace except the bottom part is coated black and therefore the temp. distribution of the furnace bottom is made uniform, the cavity emissivity is improved and the accuracy is improved with less deterioration. |
