PURPOSE:To achieve accurate extraction of a target, by smoothing the output signal of a radial scanner to detect the maximum point of the time change by subtraction from the output signal. CONSTITUTION:Light from a target is received by a radial scanning optical system 2 to be converted into an electrical signal with a light-receiving element 3 and applied to an A/D converter 7 through a sampling device 5. The output of the converter 7 is smoothed with a smoothing device 55. The output of the smoothing device 35 is subtracted with a subtractor 37 from the output of the converter 7 to obtain a signal clear of the effect of any background noise due to time changes in the background brightness. Then, an edge detector 39 detects the maximum point of time change in the output of the subtractor 37 as target position. |
