PURPOSE:To discharge a bubble in a head while preventing the deterioration of a printing quality and the overconsumption of ink by a method wherein just after air in a cap is temporarily released through an air open valve at the time of cleaning, the air open valve is again closed, and ink is sucked. CONSTITUTION:Cleaning is conducted by discharging foreign particles and bubbles through a cap 9 together with ink using a negative pressure generated by an ink suction pump 11. At this time, bubbles adhering inside the head 1 are hard to discharge even by the sucking force of the ink suction pump 11. Therefore, an air open valve 10 is opened during the sucking action, whereby air in the cap 9 is released. In this manner, the adhering bubbles are sucked reversely to suspend in the ink. After that, the air open valve 10 is again closed, and the ink is sucked. All the bubbles are discharged into an ink discharge tank 13 through an ink discharge tube 12. Then, air in the cap 9 is released by opening the air open valve 10, and a cleaning action is completed. |
