This device comprises, on the one hand, a horizontal cladding rail (1) intended to be fixed to the facade (3) and comprising a web (6) designed to interact with one of the horizontal edges of a horizontal row of panels, and, on the other hand, clips (11) designed to interact with the horizontal edge opposite the panels of an adjacent horizontal row, these clips being designed to slide vertically with respect to the cladding rails.
