MOTOR-GEAR UNIT

A motor-gear unit (1) to provide electrical drive in vehicles, in particular bicycles. The unit has an iron-free disk armature (3) and a cycloidal gear unit, and a flange (2) incorporating a permanent pressure gate separates the motor (3) axially from the gears, the disk armature (3) being connected to a hollow shaft (9) and mounted with the shaft on the flange; the gear unit is mounted on the hollow shaft (9) at the driven end (22) and on a unit (23) which overlaps with the gear unit. This creates a compact motor-gear unit which can be accommodated near the axle or hub of a driven wheel, and makes possible a simple and space-saving mounting which can safely absorb all reaction forces.
