The invention relates to a self-service device enabling cigarettes to be dispensed individually, guaranteeing each customer a cigarette which has not been handled by anyone else. It is made up of a casing (1) provided with a slot (6) giving access to an operating lever (4) which, when pulled, after it has been released by inserting a coin into a reloading device (9), opens the slot (6) to release a cigarette (7).
