PURPOSE:To extend and reduce digital picture data in the directions of an x-axis and a y-axis with simple constitution by providing a variable magnification circuit in one direction and providing a length/side transformation circuit for the image data. CONSTITUTION:An electronic type writer 1 is connected to a facsimile interface circuit 10. Digital picture data stored in a RAM 13 is variably magnified in either the x-axis or the y-axis, and the digital picture data which is magnified is subjected to a length/side transformation. The digital picture which is length/ side transformed is variably magnified, and its picture data is subjected to the length/side transformation and a digital picture data which is variably magnified in a two-dimensional direction is generated. Thus, the dot density of image data from the facsimile equipment with the resolution of 200dpi, for example, is increased, and it can be printed by setting the resolution of it to be the same as that of a printer with other resolution by giving such dot density conversion function. |
