PURPOSE:To enable to keep an engine operation stable, by providing a correction value setting means for correcting a desired opening of a by-pass intake-air flow control valve to increase it when the instruction for switching the engine operation from full-cylinder operation to partial-cylinder operation is given. CONSTITUTION:A control valve 20 for controlling the flow rate of intake air is disposed in a by-pass passage 18 branched from an intake passage 8 of an engine E. A computor 40 controls the number of cylinders to be operated through ON-OFF switching of hydraulic control valve 51 and also controls the injection quantity of a fuel injection means 12, the advance angle of an igniting means 44 and the opening of the by-pass valve 20. Since, with such an arrangement, the engine operation can be controlled generally, the engine operation can be switched smoothly from its full-cylinder operation to partial-cylinder operation and the engine operation can be kept stable. |
