The hat according to the invention comprises a covering part (17) of substantially hemispherical shape, a headband (1) forming a cylindrical section at the base of the covering part (17) and a peak (visor) (7) which is an extension of the bottom edge of the headband (1) at its front part. The covering part (17) is made using a succession of lune-shaped elements (E1 to E5), arranged side by side and with all the ends on one side being superimposed so as to form two stacks which are attached at two opposite points on the headband respectively.
