The invention relates to the technology of making continuous basalt fibre. The method provides for extraction of the basalt melt from the working zone by means of stream feeders for feeding it to the dies from a point situated within 0.8 to 0.2 of the melt level in the working zone. The device comprises a pick-up (7) of the level of the melt (2) in the working zone (3). Depending on the change of the level (9) of the basalt melt (2) the position of the stream feeders (4) is regulated so as to provide for extraction of the melt (2) from a point situated within 0.8 to 0.2 of the level (9) of the melt (2) in the working zone (3).
