PURPOSE:To detect the position and angle deviation by providing a strip shape reference line, using a clipped area as a data recording area and setting lots of data tracks perpendicularly the reference line so as to provide a positioning reference to a recording medium itself and use a read sensor of a reader. CONSTITUTION:The titled medium is constituted by providing an optical recording area 2 to a plastic-made base plate 1 and providing plural reference line 5 with a prescribed interval in the lengthwise direction of the area 2. The are 2 is constituted of a substance on which binary-coded information is written as a contrast pattern by irradiating a light beam such as a laser beam or using the photopgraphic technology so as to change locally the optical property such as reflectance. Each reference line 5 is formed in a strip by making a prescribed basic pattern 5a consecutive periodically, whose width is changed sequentially. The areas clipped by the reference line 5 are data recording area 3, and lots of data tracks 4 are set to the are 3 in a direction perpendicular to the reference lines. The data track 4 consitutes the minimum unit of the contrast pattern. |
