The present invention relates to platinum complexes having antitumour activity represented by the general formula (I): <IMAGE> in which A is chosen from ammine and primary alkyl- and cycloalkylamine monodentate ligands having 1-3 carbon atoms, such as methyl-, ethyl-, n-propyl-, isopropyl- and cyclopropylamines or else the two amine groups can be combined in a diamine <IMAGE> diaminocyclohexane and 2-hydroxy-1,3-diaminopropane, and X is either a vinylene group (-CH=CH-) or an ethylene group (-CH2-CH2-) when it is bonded to two sulphur atoms in the cyclic form or represents two methyl groups bonded separately to each sulphur atom.
