PURPOSE: To enable a flange to have a compact structure which can provide desired stress when automatically assembled and needs only a small space for conducting assembling. CONSTITUTION: Both flanges 4, 5 have mutually corresponding holes 8, 9. A restraint collar 10 having a slit in axial direction is guided in the hole. The restraint collar 10 is extended axially and expanded radially by a restraint bolt 22 guided in a hole 12 thereof. As a result, the restraint collar 10 is supported on the contact face 18 of the flange 4 by a contact face 17 in a coupling collar 16 and on a counterfort face 21 of the other flange 5 by a support face 20 after the mounting process. Thus, it is possible to mount the flange automatically in a small space and to obtain high stress between the flanges 4, 5.
