PURPOSE:To extend and reduce picture data in a dot unit by providing two kinds of transformation circuits which transforms the dot density in the directions of the x-axis and the y-axis of digital picture data. CONSTITUTION:A first variable magnification circuit executing the density transformation of a dot in the direction of the x-axis and a second variable magnification circuit executing the dot density transformation of the dot in the direction of the y-axis are provided in a digital signal processing circuit 12. The first variable magnification circuit variably magnifies digital picture data stored in a RAM 13 in the x-axis direction, and the digital picture data which is variably magnified is variably magnified in the y-axis direction by using the second variable magnification circuit. Thus, dot of image data from a facsimile equipment with the resolution of 200dpi, for example, is increased, and it can be printed without a change in the printer of 360dpi, for example, by giving a dot density transformation function. |
