PURPOSE: To produce a collagen membrane having biocompatibility and non- inflammatory properties and useful for repairing tissue as artificial implantation matter by crushing a collagen matrix to centrifugally separate the same and homogenizing the obtained precipitate to prepare paste and casting this paste before drying. CONSTITUTION: Soln. like collagen being a starting raw material is atelopeptide collagen and may contain a crosslinked collagen substance. The conversion from a gel to a membrane is performed by a method wherein a gel matrix is crushed and the crushed matter is centrifugally separated to recover precipitated collagen and a precipitate is uniformized to obtain paste which is, in turn, put in a casting mold to be solidified at 37 deg.C or less under atmospheric pressure. The crushing of the gel is mechanically performed by using, for example, a spatula and the crushed matter is centrifugally separated for about 20-30min under gravity of about 13,000×g to obtain the precipitate. By this method, a non-inflammatory collagen membrane like substance having biocompatibility can be obtained as artificial implantation matter. |
