PURPOSE:To manufacture the title multilayer ceramic capacitor provided with base metallic inner electrodes capable of being manufactured at a relatively low cost by a method wherein the inner electrodes are composed of nickel while the outer electrodes are composed of the first nickel layer baked simultaneously with a multilayered body, the second glass-coupled silver or silver alloy layer and the third plated metallic film layer, etc. CONSTITUTION:The title multilayer ceramic capacitor is composed of a multilayer body comprising inner electrodes 2 and dielectrics 1 alternately formed on one another and the outer electrodes 3-5 to be connected to the inner electrodes 2 comprising nickel. Furthermore, the outer electrodes 3-5 comprise the first nickel layer 3 baked simultaneously with the multilayer body, the second glass coupled silver or silver alloy layer 4 formed on the first layer 3 and the third plated metallic film layer 5 formed on the second layer 4. Furthermore, a nickel oxide diffused layer is formed on the part near the coupled part of the nickel in the dielectrics 1 with the first layer 3. For example, the first layer 3 is formed of the mixture of nickel powder and nickel oxide powder.
