The spacer mfr. uses a light-sensitive foil applied to at least one of the 2 substrate plates, having a flexible carrier with a water soluble resin layer, in turn carrying a photopolymerisable resin layer, which can be developed via an aq. developer soln.. The latter resin layer is exposed and hardened, with subsequent removal of the unexposed areas.
