The termination device has a pair of electrically conductive terminal elements (14,18) which are made of different materials and electrically joined together via a contact element (24) fitted to the end (18a) of one element (18) inserted in the adjacent end of the other element (14). The first terminal element (18) is subjected to a localised plastics deformation (P) to clamp the contact element (24) to the end of the second terminal element (14). Pref. the contact element (24) comprises a C shaped sleeve and the second terminal element is provided by the heating coil, both formed of a Cr Ni alloy, the first terminal element formed of Cu or Cu alloy. ADVANTAGE - Allows selection of terminal materials optimum for their differing functions.
