The heater element cmprises a coiled heating conductor extending over the whole of steeing wheel grip portion. Insulator bodies are mounted at the ends of the conductor, enclosing them and connecting wires, fixing devices on them secure them to the steering wheel body. A strip resistant to tension load can be fixed to the insulating bodies, the turns of the conductor being secured to it. Its length is equal to the circumference of the grip portion.
