<p>A positive axial clutch of the hyperboloidal type whereupon engagement transmits torque in one direction and freewheel or overrun is allowed when disengaged. The apparatus utilizes an inner race (14) coupled to an inner race element (40) such as a shaft, an outer race member (18) coupled to an outer race element (42) such as a sprocket designed to rotate in one direction relative to the shaft with an annular volume (22) formed therebetween in which a plurality of thrust transmitting rollers (26) are disposed.</p> |
