In the transport system for bobbins and sleeves, the sleeve return conveyor (5) takes sleeves from the winder (W) which are free of yarn, or which have remaining yarn on them which is at or above a given value with any remaining yarn. Those sleeves still wound with yarn, but below a given value, are diverted from the return conveyor (5) to a yarn removal station (15) on a conveyor line (11), so that the sleeves can be cleared of yarn. ADVANTAGE - The system gives a bobbin and sleeve transport operation matching the requirements of automatic winder.
