The fixing device (15) allows the wall socket (10) to be secured in a metal reception dish and is formed as a cover for the socket. The device has mechanical parts for attaching it to the socket and magnetic parts for securing the whole in the metal reception dish. Pref., the device is locked to the socket via at least one rotary latch (26) under control of an externally accessible operating head (27), rotated to engage the latch between a locking edge (13) of the socket.
