A sports racket comprises a metal frame (1) and a plastic throat (2) section leading directly to a hand grip (3). The plastic section (2), typically mfd. in polyurethane, polyamide, epoxy resin or mixts. of these polymers is integrally moulded with the metal frame (1) and forms a single unit with the grip (3). The metal frame (1) extends continuously around the head or may extend into the grip (3) for increased stiffness. In the alternative design, e.g. for badminton rackets, the metal framed head and shaft are connected by a plastic T- piece and the shaft extends into a plastic grip.
