A light beam heater includes a light source (1), a reflector (3) for focusing light energy emitted from the light source (1) on a predetermined location (4), and a power source (12) for supplying an electric current to the light source (1). The light beam heater further includes a light-electricity conversion element (10; 10a) for detecting the amount of part of light energy focused and a controller (11) for controlling the electric current flowing into the light source (1) by controlling the power source (12) based upon the amount of light energy detected by the light-electricity conversion element (10; 10a). <IMAGE>
