Continuous vacuum furnace for brazing, hardening and tempering of metal tools and components has a rotary hearth with more than 3 treatment stations for partial charges. The vacuum locus for charging and discharging material to be treated are combined in a single lock, which is also equipped for rapid cooling in pressurised gas at pressures up to 10 bar.
