Agent (I) comprises (A) carrier film, (B) film sealed thereon, forming cavity of thicknes 2-20mm and open at both ends, reagents required for determn. being embedded in a water-soluble organic polymer (II) having surface more than twice that on which the cavity is based. Process comprises carrying out photometric determns. in aq. solns. by means of a reagent embedded in (II) and contained in a cavity formed from two films, open at both ends and forming a layer 2-20mm layer thick, (II) having, in relation to base of the cavity more than twice as large a surface, the reagent being liberated by dissolving (II). USE/ADVANTAGE - Disposable (I) packs, partic. for diagnostics in medical laboratories, esp. for series investigations, wherein test soln. e.g., body fluid such as serum or urine is added, e.g., by dipping (I) into the soln., also in metal and ore analysis, testing drinking water, etc., analysing foodstuffs, and monitoring hygiene. Reagent is rapidly dissolved or dispersed, even from thicker (I).
