Temp. are measured at inaccessable points of prod. during a shrinking operaton and by an indicator. At the indicator measuring end is a movable component, pref. a spring, locked by a release member. On reaching a set temp., the member is destroyed, allowing the spring, etc. to act on an indicator member which is then visible, indicating the condition. The member can be a hollow body destroyed by heating, which causes its filling to expand. It can be situated in the narrowed portion of a pipette forming the indicator, between the movable component and the indicator member. The body can be of glass. ADVANTAGE - Greater reliability and universally usable.
