An N-substituted dialkylacetal (meth)acrylamide of formula II: <IMAGE> II wherein n represents 3 or 4; R1 represents hydrogen or methyl; and R2 represents an alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms is prepared by thermally decomposing an aminoacetal derivative represented by Formula I: <IMAGE> I wherein n, R1 and R2 are as defined above, in the presence of a base.
