The invention provides a flush-interrupt mechanism for a lavatory bowl. The known mechanisms are of complicated design and are difficult to use. The flush-interrupt mechanism which is provided by the invention makes it possible, by dint of its design, to commence and interrupt the flush by actuating the same button twice in succession. The actuation and interruption are carried out by means of a single control unit.
