发明名称 Thermoelectric generator
摘要 775,968. Thermo-electric devices. MILWAUKEE GAS SPECIALTY CO. July 12, 1954, No. 20389/54. Class 53. A thermo-electric generator comprises a first thermo electric element mounted in a cavity in a second such element, a rigid conductor extending from the first element through a sealing means for the cavity. In Fig. 2, the thermo-couple elements consist of a cup-shaped element 10 of stainless steel or an iron alloy which encloses the other element 11 of semimetallic alloy such as lead and selenium-tellurium. Contact between elements 10 and 11 at the hot junction is established by electrode 12. At the cold junction, element 11 is bonded to an electrode 13 which is connected via flexible connection 23 to the inner conductor of a coaxial lead 21. A flexible diaphragm 18 is attached to electrode 13, and a cup-shaped member 19 is adapted to compress a resilient ring 17 of insulating material, between diaphragm 18 and a collar 16 attached to element 10, so as to seal off the cavity containing element 11. A resilient ring 20 surrounds diaphragm 18. The cavity may contain inert gas. Element 10 is electrically connected via member 19 to the outer conductor of lead 21. Additional means may be provided to conduct heat from the cold junction. In assembling, element 11 may be bonded to electrode 13 by direct casting, in which a stabilized iron is placed in a graphite mould in contact with element 11. Molybdenum in an amount from 2.7 to 7 per cent may be used as a stabilizer for alpha phase. The mould is then heated in a reducing atmosphere to the melting point of the element, i.e. 920‹ to 1100‹ C. and then cooled. Alternatively bonding may be effected by fusion, in which the iron of electrode 13 is heated to 732‹ to 905‹ C. to form a thin alloy layer with element 11 having a melting point below the phase transformation temperature of the iron, and immediately fusing the layer and the electrode to provide the bond. In this case the iron may be alpha stabilized, unstabilized or gamma phase stabilized. The assembly is then annealed at from 570‹ to 680‹ C. for ten to twenty hours in inert or reducing atmosphere. The composition of element 11 may comprise lead selenium and tellurium, the selenium-tellurium constituent ranging from 25 to 27.5 per cent when tellurium is but a trace in selenium, to 35 to 38.05 per cent when selenium is but a trace in tellurium; the balance is all lead. Specifications 501,410, 578,187, 765,884, 766,999, 775,969 and 775,970 are referred to.
