A ferromagnetic seal for a rotating shaft, which contains two multiedge ring polepieces seated in a stuffing chamber, separated by a permanent axially polarised magnet, whereas in the slots on the side of the multiedge surface of the polepiece lateral planes, a ferromagnetic fluid is contained, characterised in that cylindrical ring chambers are made inside the polepieces (1) and in the sleeve (3) seated beneath on the sealed shaft; whereas those cylindrical ring chambers are parallel to the shaft axis and shifted radially in relation to each other and associated with arms (5 and 6) created by those chambers, so that the polepieces (1) chambers accommodate arms (6) of the sleeve (4), whereas the sleeve (4) chambers accommodate arms (5) of the polepieces (1), whereas the multiedge surfaces of the lateral planes of the polepieces (1) are located on the inner and outer diameters of their cylindrical ring chambers; besides, in the sleeve (4), on its inner diameter and in the polepieces (1), on their outer diameters, sockets with circular cross-section are made for sealing rings (7, 8).<IMAGE>
