A method of producing carbon sorbent for hemoperfusion by the carbonisation and activation of organic substances, characterized in that a sulfonic synthetic resin - polysulfonic acid or its salt, in the form of spherical grains of desirable sizes, is carbonised at the temperatures up to 1,000 degrees C in an inactive gas atmosphere for 2-5 hours, and further it is activated at the temperature of up to 1,100 degrees C, in the atmosphere of carbon dioxide or water vapour or ammonia, or of one of these gases and an inactive gas for 0.5-2 hours.
