摘要 It comprises an electromagnetic device for detecting at least one fault (24) in a cable (1), of the type comprising magnetisation means (20 arranged around the cable, Hall-effect detection probes (20, 21) arranged in a ring around the said cable and capable of detecting the fault, means for processing the signals delivered by the said detection probes and representing the faults detected, and it is characterised in that the detection probes (20, 21) are arranged on at least two ferromagnetic rings (16, 17; 18, 19) around the cable, each probe (20) of one ring (16, 17) being associated with one probe (21) of the other ring (18, 19) so as to form pairs of probes, and in that the rings are separated by a gap (D) making it possible to obtain, from the signals delivered by one pair of probes, a differential signal which is the sum of two components representing at least one type of fault capable of appearing in the said cable. <IMAGE>
