The device includes a cage and a turnstile made of moulded plastic, the turnstile allowing, in the cage, a position for which the link (22) is inserted, in which a diametral passage (18) that it includes is aligned with two opposing openings (10) in the cage so that the link can be passed through the cage-turnstile assembly, the cage and the turnstile further including means for preventing, beyond the position in which the link is inserted, axial withdrawal of the turnstile and any rotation of the latter which might be in the opposite direction from a permitted direction of rotation, so that by turning the turnstile in the permitted direction after having inserted the link, the latter is locked irreversibly. The seal includes a device as hereinabove and a link secured to the cage. <IMAGE>
