PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage of oscillation energy when obtaining a thickness slide quartz oscillator by holding a rectangular AT-cut quartz piece on a holder, by supporting it with at least one X-axial end made open while making the diagonal direction of the rectangle agree with the X-axial direction of the quartz piece. CONSTITUTION:When rectangular AT-cut quartz piece 1' is made, the diagonal direction, the longest side of the rectangule, is selected as the X-axial direction and one X-axial end is made free. To the center parts of both surfaces of quartz piece 1', circular electrodes 2 are bonded respectively and elongated to the square parts at rignt angles to the X axis; and they are clipped by holding clip 3 and connection wire 4 connected to it is wound around lead terminal 5 penetrating holder 6. In this constitution, the circumference part of quartz piece 1' is beveled and circular parts having electrodes 2 bonded are made plane. Thus, the leakage of energy can be prevented especially at a low frequency. |
