BABESIAL PROTEASE ANTIGEN

摘要

Antigens inducing protective immunity against homologous or heterologous challenge with Babesia bovis which include an antigen which is immunoreactive with a monoclonal antibody recognising a protein located within rhoptries organelles at the apical end of Babesia bovis in infected erythrocytes. Recombinant antigens are also claimed and in particular a recombinant antigen which is a component of 21B4 antigen of 313 base pairs and disclosed in FIG 11. Processes for preparation of monoclonal antibody T21B4 as well as processes for preparation of the above antigens are also claimed. Vaccines including the antigens in combination with an appropriate adjuvant are also claimed.
