A device for introducing gas into a mass of molten metal in a vessel having an apertured block positioned in the lining in said vessel, the aperture in registry with an opening in the vessel, a refractory core in said aperture in said block, passageways extending through said refractory core, the refractory core and said opening in said vessel being of substantially the same size so that said refractory core may be moved through said opening in said vessel into said aperture in said block and a spacer and a support plate for holding said core in said block, the support plate being removable attached to said vessel. |
