PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of an auxiliary deflection device correcting distortion on red (R), green (G), blue (B) screens in the projection display device using a projection tube. CONSTITUTION:The output of a correction waveform generating circuit 2 is divided into a horizontal period (high frequency) component and a vertical period (low frequency) component and each component is separately processed to form a correction current waveform. The correction current waveform of the horizontal period (high frequency) component is supplied to a high frequency (small permeability of a core or less number of coil winding) auxiliary deflection coil 7 and the correction current waveform of the vertical period (low frequency) component is supplied to a low frequency (large permeability of a core or much number of coil winding) auxiliary deflection coil 8. |
