Manufacture of a composite moulded structure, constituted by a foam core and, on its periphery, by a shell formed from two assemblies, a lower assembly and an upper assembly, which consist: A/ in laying down, in a mould (1, 2), a first assembly (6, 8, 9) intended to form the lower shell; B/ in laying down, in the same mould, a second assembly (12, 13, 14) intended to form the upper shell; C/ in closing the mould (1, 2); D/ in injecting, between these two assemblies, reactants intended to react in order to form a foam which expands in situ; E/ in cooling; F/ and, finally, in opening the mould, characterised: - in that the first and second assemblies are deformable and airtight and define, between them, after closing the mould, a closed (airtight) chamber in which, before injecting the reactants, a fluid under pressure is injected until pressing these two assemblies against the walls of the mould; - then in that, in a known manner (step D), the reactants intended to form the foam are injected afterwards into the sealed chamber thus defined. <IMAGE>
