PURPOSE:To eliminate stray light and to form an electrostatic latent image of high quality on the surface of a photosensitive body by providing a light shielding wall which has a specific slit and a light absorbing film. CONSTITUTION:The light shielding wall 8 where the slit 9 is formed is provided between a polygon mirror 3 and the photosensitive body 5 and the laser beam 2 emitted by a laser diode 1 when normally reflected by the surface of the polygon mirror 3 passes through the slit 9 to irradiates the surface of the photosensitive body 5. Further, the light absorbing film 10 is provided on the entire wall surface of the light shielding wall 8 opposed to the polygon mirror 3. Therefore, when a part of the laser beam 2 is irregularly reflected by the surface of the polygon mirror 3, the irregularly reflected light 2A strikes on the light shielding wall 8 is and is absorbed by the light absorbing film 10 formed on the wall surface of the light shielding wall 8. Consequently, the stray light generated by the polygon mirror 3 is prevented from reaching the surface of the photosensitive body 5 and the image forming device which can form the electrostatic latent image of high quality on the surface of the photosensitive body 5 is obtained. |
