Friction spinning machine with fixed centres - has equipment to thread the yarn and switch between S and Z twist

A friction spinning unit has a threading device. The unit has three fixed shafts to drive discs in a triangular arrangement. The threading equipment is capable of switching from S twist to Z twist, and the thread guide for this purpose is thick enough to occupy the space between the 1st. two discs, with a min. of play. The discs of the spinning unit have drive shafts which are arranged in a triangle, on fixed centres. The threading device swivels on the centre to be lifted into position between the 1st. and 2nd. disc up to the twist centre. The guide bar is made of a hard chrome or ceramic, constructed to swivel from one retaining position to the other, and is the switch from S twist to Z twist. It is retained in position by permanent magnets acting on the extension. This may similarly be achieved by a tension spring or catch. The angular bar on which the guide swivels, extends between the discs in such a manner that the space between faces of the discs are closed at one side and open at the other, with these positions reversed for the respective twist.
