The subject of the invention is a programmer for an appliance, or system, provided with a plurality of electrical elements to be powered selectively and sequentially, including a set of cams (1, 2) interacting with a plurality of power supply contacts for the said elements, means (8) for rotational drive of the said cams, and an electronic control circuit (14) for the said drive means. To this end, it includes a coder wheel (11) integral with at least one cam (1a, 1b, ...) of the said assembly and interacting with a plurality of electrical switches (16) in order to supply to the said electronic control circuit information on the position of the said cam with which the coder wheel is integral. <IMAGE>
