A first wheel 3 interacts with worm gearing 4 carried by a drive shaft 2a and exhibits projections 3d on a flat surface which faces the second wheel 6. The latter is rigidly connected to the output shaft 5 and exhibits projections 6d on its flat surface which faces the first wheel 3. The projections 3d, 6d of the first and of the second wheels assume complementary positions according to which each projection of one wheel is separated, in the direction of rotation, by a predetermined distance from the adjacent projection of the other wheel. Elastic dampers (shock absorbers) 8 are placed between the neighbouring projections 3d, 6d of the first and of the second wheels so that they are pressed and contract in order elastically to transmit the energy from the first wheel 3 to the second wheel 6. The device damps out shocks and does not require any metallic plate intended for the bonding of the dampers.
