The oil level measurement arrangement contains two oil level measurement devices (6, 7) connected to the lower region of the sump via an oil line. The devices produce electrical signals corresp. to the oil level. These or their average values are fed via cables to a display device on the dashboard of a vehicle or motor boat contg. the engine. The oil level is displayed with the engine stopped. The level measurement devices are mounted outside the sump on only one side of the sump in the vehicle longitudinal direction. They are arranged at the same height and relative to each other so the extension of an imaginary line between them passes through the centre of the sump when viewed from above.
