The connection port, implanted subcutaneously for fluid feeds and the like, has an enclosed hollow body with a valve (10, 17) which is closed when not in use to separate the zone (19) next to the membrane (5), within the interior (6), from the connection opening (20). To the catheter (28) when a cannula is inserted into the assembly, it penetrates through the membrane (5) and moves the valves system into the open position. USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly is for long term patient therapy to feed a vein or artery or into the epidural or intrathecal areas, and especially for connection to an occluder at a blood supply, and also for chemotherapy with cancer patients. The assembly can be used a great number of times without damage to the membrane through multiple and repeated cannular penetration.
