The small electrical transformer has a primary winding assembly (3) inserted into a former (1). The assembly is then located within a second former (2) that supports part of the secondary coil assembly. A screening plate is located between the units and ferrite core halves (6) are inserted. The secondary winding is formed by a combination of wire loops (5) and tracks formed on the underside of the circuit board. The loops are U shaped and the ends locate directly into connecting points on the board. The connecting tracks create a winding pattern. ADVANTAGE - Compact with circuit board tracks forming part of secondary windings.
