PURPOSE:To improve the uniformity in the roughness of a rolled steel sheet by measuring the film thickness of insulating resin on the surface of a roll, changing the irradiation condition of high-density energy according to the value of that film thickness and controlling the shape of holes after the resin film on the surface of the roll is passed through. CONSTITUTION:The thin film of insulating resin 2 of acrylic resin or the like is applied on the surface of the roll 1. Next, the high-density energy, for example, a laser beam 3 is radiated from above to this coating. A film thickness gage (for example, electromagnetic film thickness gage) is arranged in the vicinity of a laser machining head and, after measuring the film thickness of resin which is applied on the surface of the roll, that result is corrected to laser machining output with a computing element 13. That data is sent to the controller 14 of the laser machining device, the output condition of a laser oscillator 8 is controlled and the hole shape of the resin film 2 on the surface of the roll after passing through is controlled. In this way, the uniform roughness of the surface of the roll can be obtained and the uniformity of roughness of the rolled steel sheet is improved. |
